Pre-School One at Circus Day Nursery...
“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves” William Shakespeare.
As children move to Preschool One, their independence and confidence is showing. With ongoing support and positive reinforcement children will progress through many stages. Daily sleeps have usually come to an end and they will be engrossed in exploring all available options and activities on offer throughout their day.
Children will be encouraged to develop their social skills, eat with a knife and fork at meal times for example and begin some self-care routines. The team will help children achieve small personal goals such as putting on their own coats and shoes, hanging up their own bags and looking after their possessions, helping to develop their confidence and independence further.
Pre-School One floor has a large open plan playroom a separate dining room, and a bathroom where self independence is encouraged. The floor hosts wonderful real-life resources in the role-play area encouraging children to use and develop their imagination. There is a construction, a cosy book corner, and space to enable exploration and participation in music and dance. The department is well stocked with a variety of materials enabling the children to independently choose resources to assist their creative play and fine motor skills. It has a variety of equipment to enable more in-depth learning focusing on the three characteristics of effective early learning.
